The Prison Liberation Collective was founded by Brian Nelson and Gregory Koger, both of whom spent many years in solitary confinement and have been on the front lines of fighting solitary and mass incarceration behind the walls and on the streets after their release.
With the assistance of Dr. Antonio Martinez, who was one of the founders of the Marjorie Kovler Center for the Treatment of Survivors of Torture and has worked with torture survivors around the world, we are working to create a 3 year pilot project group for solitary confinement torture survivors.
This organization and the pilot project is lead by torture survivors and will undertake a vitally needed and unprecedented study into how those who have spent many years in long-term isolation in solitary confinement in US prisons can overcome those years of torture and play a key role in the larger struggle against mass incarceration, police brutality, and interrelated systems of oppression. Please donate to assist us in our work.
